In the Living Room Session below, we entered the Raynor’s world of pajamas, pink things, strong coffee and sleepy wonder at the miracle of new life in the home! We love to enter your world and capture something that will speak to you down through the years. Something that triggers your memory of the people and places that have formed your heart; your very life.
As a Tampa native and boat enthusiast, we took Jim and his southern bride to Harbor Island to capture their fun-loving spirit. They met two years ago through mutual friends, and many boat-rides and Tampa visits later, they got married! Their Motion Picture enabled wedding guests, who came from far and wide, to hear more of their story and fall a little more in love with this adorable couple! Congrats Jim & Mere! We loved being a part of your big day!
The quote below, from Donald Miller’s Blue Like Jazz, was read at our wedding 7 years ago and then again at our vow renewal last November. Marriage is no joke. It has provided a place for both intense trial and deep beauty. At times it is like wildfire, other times it feels more like a sanctuary. We like the sanctuary part better! Though, our experience continues to show us that the rough places make the smooth ones that much sweeter. Having passed through some wildfire over the last two years, we decided to celebrate at a place literally called Sanctuary Cap Cana in the Dominican. There, we rested. There, we acknowledged, yet again, that the road of love is rustic. It’s risky. It’s raw. It also has been, and continues to be, a doorway of understanding that is changing us. A gift that has been given to us. We are surrendering to the reality that our life truly is about love. Love Himself, in fact.
“I will give you this, my love, and I will not bargain or barter any longer. I will love you, as sure as He has loved me. I will discover what I can discover and though you remain a mystery, save God’s own knowledge, what I disclose of you I will keep in the warmest chamber of my heart, the very chamber where God has stowed Himself in me. And I will do this to my death, and to death it may bring me. I will love you like God, because of God, mighted by the power of God. I will stop expecting your love, demanding you love, trading for your love, gaming for your love.
I will simply love.
I am giving myself to you, and tomorrow I will do it again. I suppose the clock itself will wear thin its time before I am ended at this altar of dying and dying again.
God risked Himself on me. I will risk myself on you. And together, we will learn to love, and perhaps then, and only then, understand this gravity that drew Him, unto us.” -Blue Like Jazz
